Family car bursts into flames despite safety checks
Take a look at the moment a couple's Vauxhall Zafira burst into flames, despite the car having already been recalled and checked over.
Angela and Matthew Layton, from Wiltshire, managed to escape without serious injury but say it could have been much worse:
Matthew Layton believes if his four children had been in the car it could have been catastrophic:
Vauxhall say they tried to warn the Layton's that the car was still faulty, but Angela and Matthew insist they never received the letter:
In 2015 Vauxhall recalled 235,000 models built between 2005 and 2014 because of problems with the heating and ventilation system and fears of a fire risk. But a second recall was issued in May this year after the first failed to solve the problem.
It's thought around 300 Zafiras have caught fire in recent years.
