Flash flooding leaves roads and railways underwater and homes without power in Cornwall
Hundreds of homes in Cornwall were still without power this morning after downpours and thunderstorms caused flash flooding.
Last night, some roads and railways became completely submerged.
Pictures from Falmouth showed particularly heavy flooding in the town centre.
There were similar scenes in Camborne where the railway station was left underwater and roads were cut off in the town.
The Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service said it had been extremely busy dealing with numerous 999 calls in Camborne, Redruth and Helston assisting property owners who had been severely flooded.
Katrina Harvey Winstanley - an independent distributor - shot this video of the flooding in Helston.
She said an electrical storm had been followed by flash floods which breached the thresholds of several properties.
