The Tour of Britain weather blog: Rain.... on yer bike!
By Kate Haskell.
The clouds loomed large on Haytor this morning with heavy showers greeting the hundreds of eager spectators that arrived early to get a good spot.
So far it has rained, hailed with a moments sunshine thrown in but the main feature today is the wind.
It is very gusty and in such an exposed area of moorland there is no respite!
Our Devon hills are hard enough so the wind battering the riders as they make the big climb to the finish line can only make it more difficult. However if you are Bradley Wiggins with your own cosy motorhome to relax in afterwards then it might not seem so bad!
I'd like to say things will improve but a front out to the west is longing to move in overnight to give some heavy rain for all.
