Savannah Nicholls celebrates 10 years of being cancer-free with Penzance party
A severely disabled young girl from Penzance is having a party tomorrow to celebrate ten years of being free of cancer.
Savannah Nicholls was diagnosed with Leukaemia at just three-months old but has battled back and - despite suffering from cerebral palsy and severe epilepsy is a remarkably happy young girl.
Her family has organised the party to thank the many people who have helped her through her troubles.
Savannah had a successful bone marrow transplant when she was just a baby which has kept her cancer at bay for ten years. But complications from that transplant left her with cerebral palsy and epilepsy.
There are still very difficult moments for her family - just days ago she was rushed to the Royal Cornwall Hospital when she had a fit and stopped breathing.
The family now lives just a stone's throw from the hospital in Truro after moving from Penzance.
Savannah's mum Lisa says there have been lots of difficult times in her daughter's life:
It's also been tough on Savannah's three sisters - 14-year-old Chelsi, 12-year-old Taila and 7-year-old Zaidee.
Only Chelsi remembers the months her baby sister spent in hospital:
For Zaidee - who was born after Savannah - she's never known life without a sister who has health complications but it hasn't made any difference to how she sees her:
