Student stands up for first time in five years to receive degree at graduation

This was the inspirational moment a student stood up for the first time in years to receive his degree.

Law graduate Jeremiah Daliel - who attended University of the West of England - has been in a wheelchair for the last five years as a result of a car accident.

He told his classmates during his first year at the University that he would stand to receive his degree - and he stayed true to his work at his graduation ceremony at Bristol Cathedral earlier this month.

Jeremiah’s inspirational moment was met by a standing ovation from his classmates, who clapped and cheered as the Deputy Vice Chancellor conferred his degree.

The moment has already had more than 65,000 views on Facebook.
