Jazz Carlin: swimming for gold
In the latest of our Olympian profiles, we meet swimmer Jazz Carlin. Swindon born and raised and now training at Bath University, she's determined to make up for lost time after illness denied her a place at London 2012.>It's been at least a decade now since Jazz Carlin swam lengths in this pool. But at Swindon Tigersharks they're still proud to call her one of their own.
Carlin herself is inspired just to be a part of these Rio Olympics. 4 years ago she was tipped for a medal at the London Games but glandular fever struck and denied her that opportunity.
She almost threw in the towel but has since come back stronger and faster than before, winning Commonwealth and European titles.>And when Carlin finally clinched Olympic qualification in April there was an outpouring of emotion.
Now in a matter of days she'll live out those dreams and everyone back in Swindon will be sharing in them.
