Europe's Strongest Man reveals how his diet and training helped him win the title
Laurence Shalaei from Swindon has recently been crowned 'Europe's Strongest Man', beating Game of Thrones star 'The Mountain' to the title.
Laurence, who comes from Cheltenham and trains in Swindon is the first Englishman to win the title in 27 years.
He said it felt incredible to have earned the crown after almost giving up the competition a year ago due to injury and depression.
In the competition earlier this month Laurence carried out a 420 kilo deadlift, raced 20 metres while carrying 90 stone.
In the car walk - an event where he carried the frame of a small car on his shoulders - he achieved a new world record.
So what do you have to do to become Europe's Strongest Man?
Earlier Laurence told ITV West Country the competition is as much about technique and athleticism as brute strength:
Europe's Strongest Diet and Training
Laurence says becoming a Strongman athlete is all about building up training and diet over time - although of course not everyone can simply balloon up to power like him.
That said his training is not as devastating as you might think. He only trains 4 times a week for between an hour and a half and three hours.
His diet on the other hand is life-changing. On any given day it consists of:
Breakfast: 200g of oats, 400ml of skimmed milk, 2 scoops of whey protein, peanut butter and a banana - all made into a shake
4 meals (one every couple of hours) - usually consisting of chicken, rice and veg or lean minced kebabs, sweet potato and veg.
80g of oats and protein shakes after training
8 litres of water to avoid dehydration every day
A tub of cottage cheese before bed
