Bristol Harbourside Festival draws thousands to city

Crowds are out and about in Bristol to enjoy one of the city's biggest events - the Harbourside Festival.

A quarter of a million people were expected to descend on the city over the weekend for the yearly event.

It's one of the largest free festivals in the country and offers visitors a wide range of food, music and entertainment.

The report said the festival's branding "harks back to the Harbour Regatta, celebrating the boating community which is predominantly white.”

250 ships and boats are visiting the city and people will have the chance to go on board historic ships and cheer on boat races in the harbour.

Security at the event is likely to have been higher than usual in the wake of Friday night's attack on the French city of Nice.
