North Somerset MP Liam Fox has been appointed to head a new department for International Trade.

Mr Fox missed on becoming Conservative Party leader himself, after being knocked out in the first round of the race. He then backed the now Prime Minister Theresa May.

The former Defence Secretary was one of 5 candidates bidding to succeed David Cameron, who resigned after Britain's vote to leave the EU..

North Somerset MP Liam Fox has been speaking about his new job in the specially-created role as International Trade Secretary, in charge of securing foreign trade deals as we leave the EU.

He says he believes the country now has a "tremendous opportunity" to increase our global profile.
