Hundreds of jellyfish stranded on West Country beach

Hundreds of thousands of jelly fish have washed up on a Cornish beach. Linda Sandler spotted the site at Perranporth beach and couldn't believe her eyes.>It comes only a few days after a female sperm whale washed up on the beach.

It's believed hundreds washed up in one go. It's unknown what caused the phenomenon but they were probably brought in by the wind.

Our cameraman got a close-up of one of the blister-like jellyfish. It's believed they are 'moon' jellies which aren't harmful to humans but the advice is not to touch them just in case
