West Country gymnasts make Rio selection
Bristol gymnasts Claudia Fragapane and Ruby Harrold have had their Team GB selection for the Rio Olympics confirmed.>The pair have won a host of medals over the last 18 months in an unprecedented period of success for British women's gymnastics. >Fragapane claimed four gold medals at the Commonwealth Games and together with Harrold won consecutive team silvers at the European Championships.
Now they're both dreaming of Olympic success.
This will be the Olympic debuts for the four-time Commonwealth gold medallist Claudia Fragapane and Ruby Harrold. >PROFILES>20-year-old Ruby is a seasoned performer. At the 2016 British Championships she won beam and bars bronze before going to Bern for the European Championships and helping the team take silver.
18-year-old Claudia is also from Bristol and this year has been one of success for her.>At the British Championships she won all-around gold as well as vault, beam and floor silver, and then helped the team win silver at the European Championships in Bern. At the 2015 European Championships Claudia won the silver medal on floor as well as placing 6th all-around and making the vault and beam final.
