A war veteran and triple amputee is taking part in a push-up challenge to raise awareness of suicide rates in the Armed Forces.

Former Royal Marine Mark Ormrod plans to carry out 22 pushups every day for 22 days after latest figures show that 22 US veterans take their own lives every day.

Mark, from Taunton, lost both legs and his right arm in Afghanistan when he stepped on an IED on Christmas Eve 2007.

He said that he had had a difficult personal journey as he tried to deal with life after his accident - but he said he owed a lot to his support system.

Mark Ormrod was the first triple amputee to survive the war in Afghanistan.
