Man arrested on suspicion of Melanie Hall murder released on bail
A man arrested on suspicion of murdering a young woman 20 years ago has been released on police bail pending further enquiries.
Melanie Hall, aged 25, disappeared after leaving a nightclub in Bath in 1996. Her remains were found 13 years later in vegetation next to the M5 motorway.
Nobody has ever been charged with her murder.
A 45-year-old man who was arrested on Thursday and questioned over the weekend has been released on police bail.
Melanie was last seen alive at 1.10am on June 9, 1996, on a night out with friends, sitting on a stool at the edge of the dance-floor in Cadillacs nightclub.
Her belongings - including a pale blue silk dress, a black satchel and silver drop earrings - have never been found.
