Summer Solstice: The info you need to know
This year, for the first time, there is a charge to park at The Summer Solstice. It is also an alcohol-free zone.
If you're planning to attend the celebrations, here's everything you need to know:
TRAVEL
By car
The solstice is free to attend but, if you're bringing you car, there is a £15 parking charge.
Car parking outside the main car park in the village is restricted to only residents and permit holders and will be enforced under a temporary traffic regulation order.
The shortage of car parking places also means coaches dropping off passengers have nowhere in Avebury to wait.
The solstice car park is open from 7pm on Monday - and last admission is 6am on Tuesday - or earlier if full.
The car park must be vacated by 12 noon on Tuesday.
By public transport
The nearest train station is Salisbury and the local Salisbury Reds bus company will be running a special service from Salisbury to Stonehenge through Monday night and into the next day.
Other transport and car sharing information can be found on the Summer Solstice webpages of the English Heritage website.
There is bicycle parking available on site.
ALCOHOL
This year, for the first time, the solstice is an alcohol-free zone.
The measure is an effort by organisers to make the event "more enjoyable and peaceful", as well as family friendly.
