People living in Totnes say they're angry after their local council had to remove a large Union Jack flag because it was making too much noise.

The new flag was raised by Totnes Town Council at civic hall to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Battle of Jutland.

However, one resident in the town complained that the flag was making too much noise flapping in the wind - and it has since been taken down.

Speaking in a council meeting, Cllr Marion Adams said the decision to remove the flag had led to a flood of angry emails and complaints.

The councillor who took the flag down reminded the meeting that it was never the plan to keep the Union Jack flying permanently - and that the complaint merely reminded them that it was still up.
