Vulture turns up at RNAS Yeovilton base after going missing from Bath and West show
A vulture who went missing during a birds of prey display at last week's Bath and West County Show has been spotted at the Royal Naval Air Station in Yeovilton.
Arthur the white-headed vulture was blown off course at the show last week.
He's been seen several times in the area in the past few days and has been feasting on a cow carcass in Somerset.
The bird of prey - native to Africa, with a wing-span of up to seven and a half feet - was seen perched on a tree just outside the perimeter of the Air Station.
His owner has been informed .
Arthur's owner, Ben Potter has had to return to his base in Yorkshire with seven other giant birds of prey but will be back later in the week while a friend keeps an eye out for his errant bird.
Ben has flown Arthur 1100 times over the past ten years and has lost him a couple of times before, but says he can usually be attracted with a piece of meat.
