£200 to save Nemo the goldfish

A goldfish whose owners live in Buckinghamshire was brought to Bristol for specialist surgery to have a tumour removed.

Nemo had a growth which was almost as big as he was on his head and shoulders.

It was decided after a consult with vet Jemma that it would be best for Nemo to have the mass removed.

There were difficulties with his anaesthetic at times - at one point his heart stopped altogether.

The vets managed to revive him and the 45 minute operation was a success.

He was sent home just two hours after the procedure.
