A post office in North Somerset re-opens today four months after an attack on its cash point. Robbers used gas to blow up the ATM in Long Ashton in January. No-one has been arrested in connection with the raid.

The shop and post office in Long Ashton has been re-fitted at a cost of £180,000. Police say that this year there have been 11 similar raids on cash machines in and around Bristol. The most recent was earlier this month when an ATM in Yate was blown apart. Nearby homes in Station Road were damaged in the blast.
