Exeter veteran takes part in Invictus games
The Invictus Games are underway in Florida and among those athletes competing is Paul Vice from Exeter. The games, who have the backing of Prince Harry, are for injured servicemen and women.
Paul Vice is a former Royal Marine commando. He's taking part in these 'Games for Wounded Warriors', competing on the track, overcoming extraordinary odds. Severely injured in Afghanistan, he says the support he receives back home in the West Country is invaluable.
Prince Harry has been in Florida to cheer on the veterans. He's highlighting those who are suffering from mental as well as physical injuries.
Later this week, the wounded athletes from the West Country will be returning home. They have won medals, but most importantly to them, they have shown that injuries are no barrier to success or to their self-esteem.
Paul is one of 500 athletes here, representing 14 nations - proud to represent his country, and after days of competing and winning medals he is now looking forward to returning home.
