Gig built by wounded veterans arrives in the Isles of Scilly
It's been a long journey, but on 29 April a gig built by wounded veterans finally arrived in the Isles of Scilly.
The gig took 9 months to build from scratch at the National Maritime Museum in Falmouth. Many of the veterans had never done any woodwork before.
The boat named Valiant has been on what's called an epic journey from Falmouth to make it in time for the World Gig Championships on the Isles of Scilly.
The gig was made for the injured veterans charity, Help for Heroes. They took part in the Championships for the first time last year.
