Walkway through the tops of trees opens at Westonbirt Arboretum in Gloucestershire

A new tree-top walkway has been officially opened at Westonbirt Arboretum in Gloucestershire.

The walkway is more than 300 metres long and 13 metres high. It cost almost £2 million to build and is believed to be the longest walkway of it's kind in the UK.

  • It's 300m long making it the longest tree-top walkway in the UK

  • It's 13.5m tall at its highest point

  • It has 57 legs made of Douglas fir

  • It can have 270 people on it at any time

  • The bridge can expand and contract along 3 moving joints

  • Each of the three steel sections weighs in at one tonne.
