Front of post office completely destroyed in Shirehampton cash-point robbery explosion

Police are appealing for witnesses after the front of a post office was completely destroyed in an explosion.

Residents say they were woken up by a huge bang in the early hours of this morning at the post office in Shirehampton.

It's understood thieves used canisters to blow up the cash-point at the post office at around quarter past two this morning before making off with cash.

It's the latest in a series of raids on cash machines across Bristol.

Police have released descriptions of two men who were seen making off from the area.

One of them is described as white, in his late 20s or early 30s, between 5 feet 6 inches and 5 feet 9 inches tall, of medium build and with short black hair.

The second man is described as aged in his late 20s or early 30s, 5 feet 6 inches tall and of medium build.
