Two bereaved mothers have come together to raise money for Bristol Children's Hospital. Natalia Spencer is currently walking the coast of Britain in memory of her five year old daughter. Today she was joined in Portishead by Heidi Loughlin, who delayed her breast cancer treatment so she could give birth - but tragically she too lost her daughter.

Natalia Spencer from Cheltenham lost her daughter Elizabeth to a rare auto immune condition. Natalia set off from Dorset in February and has already walked 650 miles and raised £26,000 for The Grand Appeal.

Hearing about her story Heidi Loughlin decided to join her, as she walked along the coast in her home town of Portishead. Heidi was diagnosed with breast cancer while pregnant and forced to delay chemotherapy to try to save her baby. But sadly her daughter Ali didn't survive.

Everywhere Natalia goes women join her, keen to show support or to simply walk through their own grief. Natalia still has more than 5,000 miles to walk before her journey comes to an end. But for both her and Heidi this walk is symbolic - as for them coming to terms with losing a child is all about taking one step at a time.
