A new cathedral has been taking shape in Exeter - made not of bricks and mortar, but out of Lego. >The first bricks have been laid as part of an ambitious project to build a new Cathedral in the centre of Exeter that replicates the current one.

People have been invited to donate £1 per brick, and considering the final model will be made up of 300,000 pieces, that's some serious fundraising.>The money will go to the conservation of the real Cathedral - it's one of just three in the country to get a Lego version.

The Dean of Exeter, Reverend Jonathan Draper tells us he's excited to be launching the ambitious project.

The Dean says it's engaging for lots of different kinds of people.

The final dimensions of the model will be pretty impressive.

February half term will be the first opportunity for members of the public to drop-in, and get involved in the earliest stages of the build. Only time will tell how long we'll have to wait to see the finished model.
