A 4-year-old boy from Newton Abbot has used his pocket money to treat his mum to a meal on Valentine's Day because he didn't want her to be lonely.>Max Schofield like most four year olds thinks his mum is extra special and he decided he wanted to take his recently separated mum out on a Valentine's Day 'date'.

Max being a young gentleman, even tried to pay with a jar of pennies he'd saved.

But the staff were so impressed by Max's behaviour that when it came to settle the bill of just over £30 they decided to let Max and his Mum have it on the house. Max's mother, Emma, was left speechless by the gesture.

But the day got even better for Emma when she arrived home.

Emma's original Facebook post has now been shared dozens of times, with hundreds of people commenting on little Max's kind gesture.

So a romantic day that Emma wasn't really looking forward to turned into her most memorable one yet.
