Exeter Chiefs have signed Australia international winger Lachlan Turner on a two and a half year contract.

The Australian international touched down at Sandy Park this morning after coming from French side Toulon.

He has 15 caps for the Wallabies and played for Australian teams the Waratahs and Queensland Reds before moving to France last summer.

He joins the side at an exciting time, they're currently in second place in the Premiership and have also qualified for the last eight of the European Champions Cup.

This will be Turner's first taste of English rugby and he says he's determined to give it his all.

"Moving forward my role is just to add to that as best I can and try to continue the good work the team have done. Sitting where they are is a great accomplishment to everyone.

"Speaking to the guys this morning, though, they are all about consistency and making sure we are on our game each week. As I said, I'm looking forward to the challenge and I'm looking forward to jumping in at deep end and seeing what English Premiership rugby is all about."
