New information has brought fresh hope to the family of missing music legend DJ Derek, months after his disappearance.

The family of the Bristol DJ say they have new information about him being a cross-country rambler. According to his great-niece Jennifer Griffiths, this was news to the family who weren't previously aware of him having this pastime.

The 29-year-old great-niece of Derek Serpell-Morris, said a fellow-festival goer recently told them that he enjoyed cross-country rambling. Allegedly he would always get off the coach around 20 miles early so he could walk the rest of the way home.

This new information coming to light, could help to explain why the pensioner's bus pass was used on the number 78 service from Bristol to Thornbury at 10.32am on 11 July last year.

While the pass was registered to the DJ, CCTV was not available on the service, so police cannot say for certain that he boarded the bus.
