RSPCA inspector missing after storm rescue

A RSPCA inspector has gone missing following a call-out near Penzance.

Inspector Mike Reid went to help a flock of gannets stranded on rocks at Porthchapel Beach at 2pm on Sunday.

The 54 year old from Redruth is described as 5ft 8ins tall, of stocky build with short greying spiked hair.

He was wearing black trousers, a white shirt and black jumper when he went to rescue the birds.

Devon and Cornwall police, the Coastguard and the RSPCA are working together to find him.
