Exeter City superfan 'Jester George' flys to Anfield from California
Exeter City 'superfan' is en route to Anfield from California after a betting company paid for his flights.
George Smith - known as Jester George - is making the 11,000 mile round trip to see his heroes play in their biggest match for a decade.
He flew over to watch the FA Cup game against Liverpool at St James Park earlier this month and paid for the trip himself.
When the game finished 2-2, George realised he couldn't afford to come back for a replay.
32 year old George has been an Exeter City fanatic since he was 12 and remains a member of the supporters’ trust which runs the club.
He was studying maths in Bristol when he met Mexican-American Monica – and emigrated to America because she was missing the sunshine and her family.
George wrote to betting shop Betfred, who sponsored Exeter City's shorts in the first game, explaining his dilemma.
They agreed to pay for him to fly back again. It's the second time he's making the trip this month!
