Bath City part company with manager Lee Howells after 8 years at the club

Bath City have parted company with manager Lee Howells after 8 years at the club.

A statement on the Bath City twitter page said "the Board would like to thank Lee for his dedication and hard work over last 8 years and wish him well for the future."

The change comes with the club sitting 13th in the Vanarama National League South Table after just two wins in their last ten league games, culminating in a 4-1 defeat to Dartford on Saturday.

Australian-born Howells joined City's managerial team as a coach during the 2007 close season.

He began his career as a trainee with Bristol Rovers before making 450 appearances in a successful career at Cheltenham Town.

He became assistant manager at Bath in October 2008 and was named named head coach four years later after Adie Britton moved up to become Director of Football Development.

The club say a further announcement will be made in due course.
