Eastern European paramedics help South West ambulance stay out of the red
The South West Ambulance Service Trust says its one of only four in the country to have stayed out of the red over the past year.
The service claims its success is down to the recruitment of 52 paramedics which means it can stop employing so many expensive agency staff.
19 of the service's new recruits came from Central Europe. New starters say its a privilege to train with the NHS.
The Trust is one of only four in the country to have a financial surplus, they claim they've cut their high agency bill by recruiting overseas.
