Mild weather is a wake up call for our hedgehogs
We might be enjoying the unseasonable warm weather but for hedgehogs it's a mixed blessing.
When the temperature goes up, they wake up from hibernation and go in search of a snack. But some are too underweight to survive, and end up in sanctuaries being looked after by volunteers.
This time of year is primetime for hedgehogs to be in hibernation. But for Hedgehog Rescue Centre's across the region, they're working flat out looking after lots of hedgehogs who are waking up due to the unseasonably mild weather.
