Thousands celebrate winter solstice
Thousands of worshippers have gathered at Stonehenge early this morning to take part in festivities marking the winter solstice, despite the wet and windy weather.

Hundreds of people attended the annual ceremony, which is held to mark the shortest day of the year at the ancient monument in Wiltshire.
Organisers say they believe numbers are down on last year, which saw 6,500 people, the most they had seen for some years.
