'You are not alone' - new domestic abuse campaign launched
A new campaign designed to raise awareness of how domestic abuse can affect anyone has been launched.
'You are not alone' aims to help victims understand the wide range of forms that abuse can take, which can happen to anyone, at any age in any kind of relationship.
Officers are spreading messages around the types of abuse including intimidation, financial control, psychological abuse and others.
Kate Bolsover is a domestic abuse survivor.
Superintendent Jacqueline Hawley, from Devon and Cornwall Police, says domestic abuse is about one person having power and control over another.
The launch coincides with the increase in the occurrence and reporting of domestic abuse incidents during the Christmas and New Year period. The campaign will be rolled out via social media and will also include radio advertising and bus rear and shelter advertising.
