North Devon Healthcare Trust has been told it must improve the quality of some of its services following a recent inspection.

SUMMARY

The Care Quality Commission cited waiting times in the emergency department as one area not being managed well and delays in the discharge of patients nearing the end of life.

However, the CQC did note improvements in infection prevention, and said an open day held by the maternity unit was an example of outstanding practice.

In September 2014 the trust was required to make improvements in three aspects of care, and inspectors recognised these improvements.
