EXCLUSIVE: Husband of dementia patient secretly filmed wife receiving substandard care
The husband of a dementia patient at Warminster Hospital secretly filmed his wife receiving substandard care.
John Duffey suspected his wife wasn't being treated properly so installed a camera to keep an eye on her. He told ITV News he is shocked by the nursing standards at Warminster.
Secret Filming
Below is what Mr Duffey filmed on his secret camera.
It shows a nurse trying to feed the 73 year old while she is sleeping. A nurse coughing into a tissue at the sink and bringing it back to Mrs Duffey's beside. She proceeds to use it while giving her food. Finally, two nurses using the bottom bed sheet rather than a slide sheet to move Marion.
ITV News spoke to an independent medical-legal nurse, whose company has provided expert witnesses in more than fifteen thousand negligence cases. She observed the following:
