Devon's multi-medal winning athlete Jo Pavey has told us that she is motivated and determined to make it to the Rio Olympics next year in what would be her fifth Olympic Games.

"This year I planned at the start of the year to take a step back, not focus on going to any Championships... just take stock and have some balance in my life, be with the children and also to focus on my big goal of trying to make a fifth Olympic Games next year."

The long distance runner from West Hill near Exeter shot from being a well-known athlete to international fame last year when she won the European Championships in Zurich.

Jo was the oldest ever European Champion at 40 years and 325 days. Even more remarkable, though, was that she had only given birth to her second child the year before - making her an inspiration for runners everywhere.

If Jo can make her fifth Olympic games it will cap a wonderful career.

She has made a final at every Olympics she's entered as well as a silver and a bronze medal from the Commonwealth Games.

On Sunday, though, she won't have her trainers on but will be at the Great West Run in Exeter where she'll officially get the race underway.
