Whether you're a cricket fan or not, you will probably have noticed one man in particular is dominating the headlines at the moment - it is of course Somerset's Chris Gayle.

The batsmen has only been with the club for a couple of weeks but is already a fans favourite having smashed 243 runs in 2 games and finding time to share a few pints with supporters.

First it was sixes...and now it is selfies at Somerset. Chris Gayle has wasted little time settling in at the Country's smallest cricketing County.

He may have been 30 minutes late for this morning's press conference. But no-one minded. One of the cricket's biggest superstars had spent Tuesday evening sharing a few pints with supporters.

But behind the smile and jokes and away from the cameras, make no mistake, Chris Gayle is one of the most destructive batsmen in world cricket.

Forced to pull out of a deal in 2012, he finally joined for this season's T20 blast Gayle will only play 5 games for the county but has already proved his worth - after hitting 92 on his debut, he smashed 151 not out against Kent on Sunday. 3 balls were lost with one fan braving the River Tone to retrieve another.

At the County Ground today he was pleased to have made such a good start:

Somerset's match against Hampshire this Friday is unsurprisingly sold out with the expectation that Gayle will be providing plenty more headlines and on Tuesday he did just that but putting in a cameo at teammate Peter Trego's benefit match turning out for South Devon cricket club. After hitting a few sixes, much to the delight of the crowd, he went on to pull a few pints in the bar afterwards.

Sadly for cricket fans his stay comes to an end next Saturday but there is already talk of how soon Somerset can bring back the man known as World Boss.
