The West turns blue as Lib Dems lose out to the Tories
In keeping with the national picture, the Conservatives have made gains across the West Country, with significant losses for the Lib Dems.
The Tories took Bath, Cheltenham, Chippenham, Somerton and Frome, Taunton, Thornbury, Wells and Yeovil from the Liberal Democrats.
The hotly contested Bristol West, which the Greens hoped to take, has been won by Labour.
