Richard Drax has "areas of concern" about the imprisoned marine's case

South Dorset MP Richard Drax will meet the wife of imprisoned Sergeant Alexander Blackman today to discuss her husband's case.

A Plymouth-based Royal Marine, Sergeant Blackman was found guilty of murdering an injured Afghan fighter in 2011. More than 100,000 people have since called for his release.

Mr Drax will meet with Mrs Warner-Blackman for a briefing session in Parliament to discuss her husband's case. After visiting Alexander Blackman in prison before Christmas, Richard Drax wrote that he had ‘areas of concern’ about the case.

A three-hour debate in Parliament on January 26th has been called by Oliver Colville MP.
