Charlotte Bevan walked out of St Michael's Hospital in Bristol with her four day old daughter Zaani Tiana Bevan Malbrouck last night, 2 December. She was not wearing shoes and Zaani was wrapped in just a blanket. It has prompted a major police operation to try to find them.

Charlotte has had some mental health issues but her partner says she was happy before the birth and there was no reason for her to go missing.

This afternoon Avon & Somerset Police held a press conference. Charlotte's partner, Pascal Malbrouck, took part, as did Charlotte's mother, Rachel Fortune.

Police have been concentrating their search in the Bristol area. They have been looking at places associated with Charlotte and been in touch with her friends and other contacts.

They have searched the hospital and grounds and have also traced her possible routes home.

They are in the process of examining CCTV footage and say they are monitoring social media.

Detectives are appealing for anyone with information to contact them on 101.
