Tributes to heroic surfers who lost their lives

Family lay flowers at the beach where the surfers were swept out to sea

Friends and colleagues have been paying tribute to the St Austell couple who lost their lives at Mawgan Porth on Sunday. It's believed 44-year-old Kevin Reynolds, and 42-year-old Rachel Dunn had gone into rough surf to help four teenagers who had got into difficulty in a rip current.

52-year-old Stuart Calder from Leeds also died in the rescue effort.

The four teenagers managed to scramble to the shore, but Mr Reynolds, Ms Dunn and Mr Calder were all swept out to sea.

Despite the efforts of the RNLI, rescue teams and the air ambulance, attempts to resuscitate them were unsuccessful.
