The historic Royal Navy Sea Fury that crash landed during a display atRNAS Culdrose Airday in July is on its way to Essex, for an investigation into what happened.

The rare 1950's aircraft suffered engine failure forcing the pilot tomake an emergency landing. Its engine and propeller have already been sent to North Weald Airfield in Epping for examination.

Today the main body and wings are being transported from RNAS Culdrosein a huge 3 lorry convoy to North Weald. There the aircraft will be assessed and repaired.

It's owned by the Fly Navy Heritage Trust, a charity that preservesthe nation's Naval aviation heritage.

The aircraft will take 8 hours to reach Essex in a specially plannedroute through Cornwall and onto the M5.
