People living near a fire that's been burning for more than four weeks have been told it may not be put out for another month. Rubbish has been smouldering at the Averies Recycling centre in Swindon since mid-July.

Thousands of people live near the site and many have been affected by the smoke from the fire. This week, rubbish started being removed from the centre so fire crews can tackle the fire more aggressively as John Popowicz from Wiltshire Fire Service explains:.

The Environment Agency has taken control of the operation to remove the rubbish. The cost is estimated at around half a million pounds
