European and Local Council elections are taking place across the region.

European election votes will not be counted until Sunday night, but the South West's three Council election results will come in on Friday.

Here's a rundown of the West's Local Council's before the results are announced.

Exeter Council is currently under a Labour administration. In today's elections Labour are defending 7 seats, Conservatives 3 and Liberal Democrats 3.

Here's how the Council looks today, before results are announced:

  • Labour 24

  • Conservative 11

  • Liberal Democrats 5

In Plymouth there is a also a Labour administration. Labour will be defending 9 seats, Conservatives 9 and Independent 1.

This is the state of the parties at the moment:

  • Labour 32

  • Conservative 24

  • Independent 1

Finally, in Weymouth and Portland there is currently no overall control but it is run by the Conservatives. Today the Conservatives will be defending 6 seats, Labour 2, Liberal Democrats 2 and Independent 2.
