Exmouth second in the country to get new lifeboat

Exmouth RNLI are only the second in the country to receive a Shannon Class Lifeboat. It is the first RNLI all-weather lifeboat to be powered by water jets instead of propellers, making it more manoeuvrable and easier to operate in shallow water.

Crowds turned out to watch the new lifeboat being tested. It demonstrated the ease with which it can move through shallow water on and off the beach.
