"Love of the game" spurs Trescothick on

Persistent ankle injuries blighted a disappointing campaign last year for Somerset's Marcus Trescothick Credit: PA

Somerset cricket captain, Marcus Trescothick, admits that he finds it difficult to keep up with his younger county team mates in training.

The former England opener is advancing in years and persistent ankle injuries blighted a disappointing campaign last year for him personally and for the Taunton-based club.

But Trescothick is still one of the most feared batsmen on the county circuit and says he's "determined to keep going and doing what I do."

Somerset begin the new season on Sunday morning against Yorkshire at the County Ground.
