Tony Benn makes final journey from parliament
Tony Benn will make his final journey from Parliament today - as his coffin is borne across the road to St Margaret's church, next to Westminster Abbey.
Ed Miliband will read a lesson and other senior political figures will be at the funeral - as will around a dozen mourners from the Labour party in Bristol. There's also likely to be a presence from the Stop the War Coalition.
This great thorn in the side of the Establishment, who died earlier this month at the age of 88, was awarded the supreme Establishment accolade - lying overnight in the Undercroft of the Palace of Westminster, where he was an MP for 50 years.
For more than thirty of those he represented Bristol South East, and he always acknowledged his debt to the city and its people. A memorial service in Bristol is being planned for later in the year.
Today's service will recall Tony Benn the orator, debater and campaigner, and also the family man. It promises to be quite an occasion.
