Flood water is beginning to recede from the village of Moorland on the Somerset Levels but people can't yet return their homes.

High water marks on the walls show that the level has dropped about 18 inches and is continuing to fall.

Most of the houses in this village had to be evacuated weeks ago but a few people managed to hang on.

A group of 15 homes built their own barricade out of flood barriers, earth banks and hundreds of sandbags to keep the water out.

They have held a party to celebrate winning the battle against the rising water.
