Cornwall Council approves £41m of cuts and 2% tax rise
Drastic cuts to front line services affecting some of the most vulnerable people in the region have been agreed by Cornwall Council today. The authority has approved £41 million package of savings from April.
Council tax will rise by just under 2% - that's around forty seven pence per week for a Band D property.
£12 million will be cut from adult care and health - including the closure of two respite centres for disabled youngsters.
Library opening hours will also be slashed.
